About this Speaker

Danielle Slaton is the Director of External Relations within the School of Education and Counseling Psychology. Danielle has a long history with Santa Clara University. She attended SCU as an undergraduate student from 1998-2002, graduating with a degree in psychology and also captaining the women’s soccer team to the 2001 NCAA National Championship. Before taking on her current role, she was the Director of SCU's Coaching for Life Academy, where she developed and helped provide professional development opportunities for youth sports coaches.

Danielle was a member of the U.S. Women's National Team from 2000-2005, winning a silver medal at the 2000 Olympics and a bronze in the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup. After she retired from playing, Danielle coached soccer at Northwestern University from 2006-2009, where she also earned her Master's Degree in Sports Administration.

In addition to her position at Santa Clara, Danielle is a soccer television analyst with the San Jose Earthquakes, and on NBC, Fox Sports, and the Pac-12 Networks. She also serves on the Board of Directors for both the U.S. Soccer Foundation and BAWSI (Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative).
